The goals of the Enrich Others app are to facilitate the free dispersal of items that are no longer needed by members of a local community, to lower a community's carbon footprint by encouraging reuse and recycling, and to indirectly help, in a socially accepted way, those in a community that are perhaps less well off, and in need.
Instead of hoarding the things you no longer need, give them away for free, and experience the joy of giving!
Instead of constantly browsing a Facebook page or a classified website for something you need, create your own interest list, and let the Enrich Others app find the gifts that match your interests. Once you've added the categories of your interests, the Enrich Others app's algorithm will search for gifts that are both nearby and match your interests.
The Enrich Others app will only permit you to give away your gifts for FREE. You won't be able to buy or sell gifts with the app. We believe that the human race's capacity for generosity has evolved sufficiently enough, that we are now comfortable with giving away meaningful gifts to perhaps total strangers without expecting anything in return. Every gift you give away enriches someone else in need, reduces waste, and encourages recycling.
The Enrich Others app will automatically send out notification messages to the relevant mobile devices and email addresses whenever you receive an in-app message, whenever a gift is requested, whenever a gift is assigned, and whenever a gift is shipped. The Enrich Others app also temporarily displays badges with new message counts.
We care deeply about who uses the Enrich Others app, and what they use it for. Our target users are ordinary people, families, and friends who are interested in helping others without a profit motive. We would like you to carefully choose who you assign your gifts to by reading the justifications provided by potential beneficiaries, and by reviewing their gift history and previous feedback in their profiles.
The Enrich Others app permits more than one person to request a gift but only one person to benefit. When beneficiaries make requests, they are required to provide a justification for why they would like the gift. The benefactor is then free to carefully review these justifications along with the profiles of potential beneficiaries before assigning the gift. The Enrich Others app can also auto-assign on your behalf to the requester with the most generous gift history.
The Enrich Others app allows users to track the gifts that have been assigned. Whether you are a benefactor or a beneficiary, you will be able to track the progress of the gift from shipping to delivery. The Enrich Others app also provides an easy-to-use messaging feature to facilitate point-to-point communication once a gift has been assigned.
The Enrich Others app will only succeed if large numbers of people use it in the way that it is intended. To eliminate any barriers to organic growth, we've designed a simple registration process. All you have to do to post your first gift is to download the app from your App store, and then complete a simple registration process.
The Enrich Others app is intended to help all communities regardless of location and language. The app will initially support a few languages (English, Hindi, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, Bahasa) but we plan to provide support for more languages in the near future. Our translations may not be perfect but we welcome feedback and some help improving them.
We need advocates willing to help us spread the word on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, and by word of mouth.
We need journalists willing to help us raise awareness of the Enrich Others app in editorials, newspapers, magazines, and on TV and radio stations.
We need translators willing to help us reach more people in more countries. Can you speak Portuguese, Swahili, Punjabi, Italian, Arabic, or Polish?
We need NGOs willing to help people in need during disaster relief. We have lots of effective ideas on how we can, together, make a real difference.
We need sponsors willing to help us with our infrastructure, administrative, and software development costs.
